7 Ways to Improve Mental Health
Connect... with Family. Friends. Neighbors. Co-workers. Building these connections will support and enrich you every day.
Be active. Walk. Play. Garden. Dance. Being active makes you feel good. Do what you enjoy and suits your level of mobility and fitness.
Get restful sleep... by setting a consistent bed time and sleep schedule. This will ensure you "don't wake up on the wrong side of the bed."
Keep learning. Learn to play an instrument or how to cook your favorite food. Learning new things if fun and will make you more confident.
Give. Do something nice for a friend or even a stranger. Volunteering your time and supporting your community can be rewarding and create connections.
Eat well. Good food is good medicine. Eating nutrient-rich food, like berries, beans, and whole grains can raise your spirits.
Stay hydrated... by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. This helps improve mood and helps your body deliver important nutrients to your cells.
